So I have been playing GT6 & GT5 on PS3 for the past couple years, and I can’t help by be jealous of everyone playing Forza 6. The graphics, gameplay, and cars look awesome!
I saw on amazon I can get the Xbox One (Special edition) with Forza 6 for $400. For anyone who made the switch from an older console, I ask...Is it worth it to upgrade? I have a hard time justifying the purchase when my PS3 is working just fine, but Forza 6 looks so awesome!

I’m planning to do just this sometime around Black Friday/early December depending on when I can get the best deal.

I bought it just to play Forza pretty much. Gran Turismo hasn’t been good IMO since GT4. 5 and 6 were both huge let downs for me and am done with the series now.
Forza 6s campaign is kind of bad, no worse than GT6s really, but the cars are way better and it feels like a much more modern game.
One thing that always got me with GT6 was you couldn’t even put wider tires on the cars lol.. so if you had a car with 195s you were stuck with them forever.

Depends on where your friends play now, and if you want to continue playing with them.
I had a 360 and have enjoyed the upgrade, but my buddy I race with frequently is also going to upgrade soon as well, so I had incentive to do so.
Forza 6 is fun, though still imperfect in my opinion. Is it worth $400? That is your call. I thought it was worth the money and haven’t regretted my decision, but I am also looking at this a long-term investment and anticipate playing Forza 7 on this system as well.

I upgraded to an X1 in June, got Forza 5, and now Forza 6. I was kind of devided on it before, but with Forza 6 I think it’s worth it. There’s still some cars and circuits I miss from GT6, but they made up a lot of ground with Forza 6.
Now Forza just needs all of its circuits to have day/night cylces and dynamic weather.

Sure. Mine has got a lot of use as both a console and a media centre.
Also Forza 6 is great and so is Horizon 2.

LOL wut!?
That’s so lame. Having the ability to put wider tires independent of compound makes tuning in Forza such a treat. It really gives one the chance to push the margins on handling and power when faced with limited PI.

I bought an xbox1 a couple months back and I love it. I had gt5 and 6 on ps3 and find Forza 6 to be ten times better.

Two words: hell yes.
I’ve been playing Gran Turismo for as long as I can remember, and have owned an original PlayStation, PS2, and PS3. I recently upgraded to an Xbox One (the Forza 6 special edition in fact) and it was definitely worth it.
Also bought Horizon 2 and recommend that as well if you like open-world, free-roam-type racing games. Lots of fun.

I don’t have one so I can’t speak to it being worth it. I am planning on getting one and upgrading the PS3 to PS4 sometime soon. What I will say is this, with the recent PS4 price drop and an XBone exec recently stating publicly that PS4 is way ahead and he doubts XBone will ever catch up, wait it out for possibly good discounts in the coming months.

The one advantage that GT has over forza that I like is the ability to limit the HP via remapping/power limiter which was great for the races that was power/pp limited and didn’t fancy removing tonnes of parts

I am legitimately surprised that something like that
still
hasn’t been added to Forza yet. I’ve been wanting that since F4.

I have a One, but I didn’t get it just for Forza 5, and haven’t even gotten Forza 6 yet. I’d say it’s probably worth it, if for nothing else the ability to pick up some decent MS-line games from years past on the cheap-ish. Halo, Rare collection, etc.
I was upgrading from a 360 and considered it to be worth it, back when they were more. *shrug*

I just ditched my ps3 which only played the gt series for an Xbox one. Forza is pretty much better in every way. I don’t like paying for multilayer though. But the console does rock, and with the subscription I’m getting to play more games that I wouldn’t have. So a win all said. And I did buy a kinect, my son can now interact with it, and it’s absolutely worth it for that.

I went from PS3 to XB1, no regrets

Yes, that and adding ballast. There was a couple of time sI wanted to do that on Forza.

ah yeah, forgot about the ballast, was very helpful to get most cars to a 50/50 weight distribution
